What Makes Me Unique
First and foremost, I am the son of Sam King OBE, founder of the Windrush movement and the first black mayor of Southwark. His remarkable legacy of courage, leadership, and commitment profoundly shapes my life and ministry. Known for his deep-rooted advocacy for the Windrush generation, his unwavering spirit and dedication inspire my path every day. As I carry forward his values in my work as a Reverend and property adviser, I am continually guided by his emphasis on justice, equality, and community engagement. Integrating traditional spiritual guidance with innovative counselling, I strive to nurture and uplift the communities I serve. Each step I take in my multifaceted roles is a tribute to his enduring influence, driving me to impact lives across both spiritual and secular realms with compassion and integrity.

Welcome to my Bio!
Born on Christmas Day in 1955, I have always considered my birthdate a special blessing. My educational journey began at Dulwich Hamlet Primary School, where I was the first black student—a milestone I also achieved at Allen’s Public School, supported by a half-scholarship. Inspired by my father, Sam King, a respected RAF veteran and a founding member of the Windrush Foundation, I developed a deep appreciation for history and community service from a very young age.
I embarked on a successful professional journey, starting with the creation of the Suzi Q fashion chain. This brand quickly became renowned for offering upscale evening wear at competitive prices and was featured in prestigious outlets such as Selfridges and Harrods. Our shops emerged as cultural phenomena, attracting customers from across the UK, and gained international recognition in the Nigerian Airways in-flight magazine as a must-visit London shop. As I transitioned into property development, I had a significant impact on London's housing market by developing properties and revitalising neighbourhoods.
In addition to my business ventures, I have been deeply committed to community and youth service. Notably, I led initiatives at Chestnut Lodge Youth Club in Tulse Hill, pioneering the UK's first unemployment project, which set a precedent for similar programmes nationwide. My dedication to public service has also expanded into my role as a historian, focusing on black history in the UK from 1940 to the present. I frequently speak at national events about the Windrush generation and broader historical and Christian themes, sharing insights that foster a deeper understanding of our diverse heritage.
Ordained as a Reverend and later as an Apostle, my spiritual life has profoundly influenced my community engagement. I actively advocate for greater visibility and interaction of clergy in public spaces, fostering a more connected and respectful community environment. My contributions to education are also significant, involving the development of curricula and supporting greater access to higher education, particularly in the fields of history and theology.
Family remains the cornerstone of my life; I am happily married to Reverend Marjorie King, and together we are blessed with six children and six grandchildren. Our family life is a continuous source of joy and inspiration, grounding and guiding all my endeavours.
Currently, I remain active in public speaking, property development, and supporting innovative community-driven projects that address local needs. Through all these endeavours, I am committed to empowering and educating the next generation, ensuring that the legacies of the past enrich the futures of those who follow. My work aims to create a legacy that bridges the past and future, providing a foundation for sustainable community growth and development.
